This was made from scraps of various woods (butternut, red oak, and maple), and a maple turning blank. The base is about 6 inches (15 cm) square, and each piece is about 3/4″ (about 2 cm) thick. I rounded over all the block edges at the router table, and the center rod was done on the lathe. I finished the project with General Finishes ArmRSeal, which will cure for about 45 days before I give it to my 2 year old grandson. 🙂
